Greece: Day 1

Okay, okay.
I know, I know.

It's been a staggering two weeks since my last post.
I may or may not be allowing precious details of this amazing trip swirl down a drain.
But, this is not simply because of my own laziness.
(Well, kinda.)
However, for the past few weeks, I've been working very hard to set up my new classroom at my school.
I'm teaching kindergarten this year!
A new grade, a new classroom.
It's a lot of work, I'll tell ya.

With sincere apologies for my absence, let's return to the trip.

... Greece: Day 1...

A long time ago (three years ago) Blake and I were married.
Doesn't time just fly?
A long time ago (three years ago) Kristin and Brandon were married.
On the exact same day as mine and Blake's wedding.
Crazy how the world works. Right?!

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we decided to take advantage of our current location to take a trip to a fabulous destination.
Santorini, Greece held the ticket.

As we flew into the island, we experienced a rough landing that came close to sending me into a panic.
When the plane landed, a few people on the flight cheered!
Apparently, there are several days out of the month when the island experiences a couple of days where the wind is out of control intense.
All of the flights into and out of Santorini the day before had been canceled.
It was pretty windy, but not enough to keep us from basking in the view from our hotel.

[These chairs are where we spent most of our time over the following days.]

We spent the late afternoon sipping chilled Greek wine and soaking in the final rays of sun for the day.
It was such a treat to sit back and do nothing after our touring of Istanbul.
My feet were thanking me!

We capped the night of our 3 year anniversary with a private dinner with the resort's chef.
After six amazing courses, a bottle of wine, several cocktails, and coffee, we were high on life.

What a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary!

To Be Continued...
