Press Release for The Casey County News

For immediate release after May 17, 2010

HOUSTON, TX. - Blake Christopher BBBBB, formerly of Nicholasville, KY was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree at Rice University on Saturday, May 15th, 2010. Blake graduated in the top 15% of approximately 200 M.B.A. graduates at Rice, one of the nation's most prestigious universities.

Blake is the son of Rickie and Kathryn BBBBB formerly of Liberty, KY. He is the grandson of the late Eugene BBBBB and Hazel BBBBB of Liberty, KY and the late Darrell BBBBB and June BBBBB of Hustonville, KY. He currently resides in Houston, TX with his wife, Kimberly BBBBB, formerly of Memphis, TN and his two dogs.

Blake completed the Rice M.B.A. for Professionals Program while working fill-time as a financial analyst for Occidental Petroleum in Houston, TX. He plans to continue his career at Occidental Petroleum after graduation.

The M.B.A. programs at Rice University placed No. 1 in Texas and in the Southwest U.S.A. Overall, the school placed No. 13 in the U.S. and was ranked 25th globally. Additionally, the M.B.A. programs have been recognized in the U.S.A. and internationally for leadership and innovation by U.S. News and World Report, the Financial Times, the Economist, and Entrepreneur magazine.

I wrote the above article for the local newspaper where Blake's extended family currently resides.
It is a small town paper that will be read by much of Blake's family, and I was more than proud to type out the article.

Not nearly as proud as I felt throughout this past weekend.

My throat tightened as Blake crossed the stage and accepted the truth and onsets of his accomplishments.
Because of the sacrifice that Blake (and I) have made over the past several years, we have ensured the ability to take care of ourselves and our family.

What an amazing time in our lives.
Congratulations, Blake!
